Even though I don't know very much about the singer, Keren Ann,
her beutiful voice drew me into her song when I heard it on a Korean TV ad.
Unfortunately, because I only know this song,
I don't know how any of her other songs go.
Nevertheless, it's obviously one of my favourite songs.
'Not Going Anywhere' is a kind of ballad and
its slow rendition makes me feel calm, contented and relaxed.
In addition to this, I particularly enjoy the rhyme and rhythm
created by the careful selection of words in the lyrics.
This is unusual as I am type of person who usually takes pleasure
from the rhythm of a piece over its lyrics.
The contrast of some of the words, like 'hear' and 'listen'
forces me to think about their diffrences and,
because of that, I can not help concentrating on the lyrics.
When I listen to this song, I forget all annoyances,
and things that make me angry, and return to a state of serenity.
It is as if I am walking on a cloud without a care in the world.
That's why I like 'Not Going Anywhere',
and I recommend that you listen to it attentively. |
